There are three options when the leasing agreement expires: changing to a new BMW, purchasing the vehicle and/or taking out a loan or returning the vehicle to your BMW Partner in line with the contract.

What do I need to pay attention to when returning my leased vehicle?

Arrange an appointment with your BMW Partner for returning your BMW at the end of the leasing agreement both for the preliminary inspection and for the final return of your vehicle. You should also consult the detailed checklist, which summarises all the points concerned with the return of the vehicle.

What happens if my vehicle has any damage at the end of the leasing agreement?

To ensure returning the vehicle is as simple and relaxed as possible, you should check and rectify any damage incurred with your BMW Partner in advance.

Vehicle Condition Assessment

Prior to returning your vehicle to your preferred BMW Retailer, a complimentary vehicle condition assessment needs to be completed by our approved assessor TÜV SÜD.

After concluding your vehicle condition assessment, you can contact the Finance & Insurance Manager at your preferred BMW Retailer to schedule an appointment for your vehicle return.
Please note that the vehicle must be returned within 4 days of the assessment being completed and at least 7 days prior to your contract end date.

Can I keep my vehicle once my BMW Charter: Fixed-Term Rental agreement comes to an end?
No you can't. When you reach the end of your rental agreement, you need to return your vehicle to your BMW Retailer. Charter: Fixed-Term Rental does not offer the option of ownership at the end.
What do I need to pay attention to when returning my rental vehicle?
When renting a vehicle through Charter: Fixed-Term Rental, your vehicle will be subject to fair wear & tear. Refer to our vehicle return checklist to ensure you have an easy vehicle return.
Also make sure you stay within your agreed mileage limit to avoid any penalty fee.
Do I have to expect any further costs when the rental agreement comes to an end?
If the vehicle displays any damage on return that is not covered by the insurance, costs may be incurred.
