Cameras monitor the traffic situation and road signs. Important information comes straight into your cockpit. You can relax but always remain in charge.

Between 31 and 180 km/h, the Distance Control maintains your desired speed and distance from the vehicle in front. Your BMW brakes and accelerates independently. The Distance Control can also react if you’re about to take a bend too fast. As you come out of the bend, your BMW accelerates back up to your chosen speed.&nbsp; The Steering and Lane Control Assistant keeps you in the centre of the lane up to 180 km/h. Active steering intervention increases safety in traffic jams and when overtaking. The Speed Limit Assist also has an anticipatory approach, and automatically adapts the set speed in line with current speed limits. If you inadvertently drive too fast, you’ll see a visual warning.

With Remote Control Parking, you can control your BMW from up to six metres away. Using your smartphone or the My BMW App, your BMW can drive itself into and out of tight parking spaces in a partially automated manner. 3 Map update installation in the vehicle

The map update ensures that your navigation maps always remain up to date.

For some regions, you will receive automatic map updates for the navigation system of your BMW.

Vehicles equipped with operating system 8.0 automatically receive regional (national) map updates without setting an update region. Once the map update has been started, it may take several days until the entire (national) update has been completed, as the regions are updated sequentially.

Automatic map update

You can update all map data for your navigation system using the manual map update. The BMW Download Manager must be installed on your computer before your can download the current map data.

After installation please log in to "BMW Download Manager" with your BMW ID (ConnectedDrive account) and select the corresponding vehicle for which you wish to download the map data.

You can subsequently start downloading the map data. The map data will be saved on your computer, from where you can transfer the data onto a USB device.
